BLADE

Barnham Leisure Amenities Developement Enterprise (BLADE)

BLADE was set up as a charity in the late 1990s by Barnham Parish Council and other interested local people primarily to develop leisure facilities for the village of Barnham.

The field behind the Parish Hall, now named Murrells Field, has been leased to the Parish on a long lease and over the last few years there has been a lot of hard work by a few dedicated individuals to clear the area of vast amounts of glass rubble and scrap from old buildings, to clear old trees brambles and scrub, rabbit proof the field and plant trees and shrubs. In 2006 the car park was finished and new gates installed. In 2010 the children's play area, trim trail and picnic area were completed. The multi use games area was opened in 2011.
